The "Control of Allergic Rhinitis and Asthma Test" (CARAT) is a brief self-administered questionnaire to quantify the degree of control of Allergic Rhinitis and Asthma. The initial phases of development and validation of the CARAT questionnaire are available in two original papers: Respir Res 2009; Allergy 2010. The development of CARAT involved the active participation of more than 100 Portuguese physicians and over 350 patients.
The questionnaire may be downloaded or you may use its online version in this site.
This questionnaire is copyrighted mostly to prevent unapproved changes to it. Its use for individual purposes (e.g. supporting clinical assessment at a patient consultation) its free and does not requires any authorization. The use of the questionnaire by any research group, to aggregate data from different patients, is dependent on a communication to inform the CARAT group. For-profit organizations or the use of the questionnaire with commercial/marketing purposes will require case-by-case authorization from the CARAT group.
The CARAT Collaboration Network (CARAT Network) supports the activities of development and dissemination of the project CARAT namely: the development of versions of the questionnaire in other languages and/or other populations and the clinical investigation projects related to Allergic Rhinitis and Asthma.
The online version of the questionnaire CARAT aims to contribute to improve the communication between Patient-Physician, helping the follow up of.
Translation and cultural adaptation of CARAT involves researchers with different languages. If you want to participate on this project, please contact us.
